So I put down the min $200 however from what I hear I can add more before I activate it? What I'm confused is I completed the payment on Friday of last week but still no email from captial one about the card and what's going on? Is this normal? How long does it normally take to hear back from them?
Congratulations on your approval (and likely the start of a rebuild!) I've never had a secured card from CapOne, but IME, they have very good customer service. I recommend giving them a call and asking if you can increase your secured deposit.
Be forewarned, CapOne can be odd, so make sure you can confirm that in doing so this won't result in another (triple) hard pull.
Best of luck on your journey!
Thank's it's just I haven't heard anything back from them after I completed the amount needed for the QS.. I might wait until Monday to call them.. back when I had the quicksilver before I don't remember this.
Just an update I happen to log into cap 1 on the pc and noticed the QS card was showing and I refreshed the moble app and it's showing on that as well.. However the card has yet to still arrive so I assume I can still add money to it?
According to the Capital One Platinum Secured Credit Card website, you can raise your initial credit line by depositing more than the minimum amount (up to a maximum limit of $1000). So it sounds like you can increase it any time before it graduates to unsecured.
Funny you should say this is that in the email I got it says this:
Did you know? You can increase your credit line, dollar-by-dollar, up to a maximum of $1000, by adding more funds. Just deposit either before card activation or before your funding window closes on Oct 6.
I've always heard here I could keep adding it until I activate it
Congrats
Nice! That clarifies things a bit.
May I ask why you selected the Capital One secured card? Other secured cards, such as the Affinity Secured Visa, allow you to keep increasing your limit for as long as the card is secured.
Congrats on your approval and finally finding the answer to your question!

I didn't know anything about Affinity card I might try maybe 2-3 months down the road.. I did a quick check of the site and not 100% sure how it works I guess you need $5 to fund?
