Applied for US Bank Altitude Reserve - awkward question

Decided to go into my local US Bank branch to apply for the Altitude Reserve. I do not think any of the now five cards I have applied for at USB have been on-line, either they called me, I went to the branch, or mailed a paper app. Not been denied on four, looking forward to what the decision is for this one.

Anyway, the banker taking my info asked some chatty questions, including, "do you have any travel cards already?"

Um, yeah, I've got an AMEX, and the Cash Plus cards...

Left out from the answer ( because it seemed awkward to go to so much detail ) , was

SPG

PRG

Delta

Hilton Surpass

Hilton Citi

American Airlines 1

American Airlines 2

Marriott

Hyatt

Diners Club

Venture

Alaska Airlines

The AR has some nice features, so it is a long term card. They had an example there, one of the bankers just got hers, and it's a nice heavy metal. Some of the other cards may see closures in 2018 to try to cut AF, but the benefits of many of these cards have some value to me.

Congratulations on your new US Bank approval.

They been pretty good pushing preapprovals my way for some of their cards since closing one with them last year which i had for 5 years total.

Camp is full enough as is but you have to hand it to them for effort.

Yes, and I'm something of a poster child for "US Bank is a relationship bank".

Mortgage was signed and immediately sold to them in 2007.

They called me in 2009, at near the high point of my CC debt, to ask if I wanted to apply for the basic cash rewards. How could I say no? Converted to Cash+.

They called again in 2011 to give me a Cash+.

Two other cards I've applied for, had for a while and closed. Closed the Fred Meyer card recently partly because the rewards aren't very good, and to free up internal limit for this app possibility.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

I will be hunting for merchants who take Apple Pay. Been doing that since AP came out, but with a new purpose Smiley Happy
