Hello,
I have been wanting this card (Ritz Carlton card from chase) for some time now but not sure I should go ahead and apply it or not. Here is my history with chase and credit.
I have been a chase banking customer for 14 years or so, business banking for a year. I have had freedom card for over a year, always or nearly always paid full balances, last month they approved me for CSP card instantly in the bank branch with 5k limit. I also have their amazon credit card for like 7-8 years. always paid on time never late.
My credit history, I had ironically $213 medical bill that went into collection without my knowledge, which of course i paid it off already about 6 months ago. Late 90 days on AMEX due to illness and also paid it off over a year ago.
I am 32 years old and my income is between 90k to 130k a year depending on my investment returns and such. I have 20 credit cards alaways paid on time and such except that two I mentioned above.
I have a loan on the car (bmw) which I already paid off 30% in three months of getting it.
My fico scores are in 660-670s for some reason I dont know why. my credit usage is less than 21%. age of credit history is 11 years.
What are my chances to get the ritz?
Any input will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

If you go to Chase's prequalify site, do they show you the Slate card? If so, I think you have a pretty good chance another Chase card. I went from Freedom, CSP, Marriot Rewards and Amazon within 5 months with 4 major baddies on my report (tax liens). Only disclaimers are my scores and income are higher than yours.
If you decide to go for it, let us know how it goes. Good luck!
Good luck, I was approved for 4 Chase cards in 10 months, the last being the Ritz Carlton card. You have a good chance because Chase tends to use their own scoring system and you have a great relationship with them. I had over 30 INQs when they approved me.

Is there an advantage to having both Marriott and Ritz? I thought Ritz cancels out the Marriot because same perks + more?

Not really, but I get a free hotel night every year for having it so its worth keeping it. I got the Marriott card before I knew about the Ritz. I have the same Marriott Number for both cards and I may PC the card in the future to another but I'll hold onto it for now.

oh... you can have both cards? I always thought once you have the Marriott the Ritz is out ... well I might get gold level this year then I will leave it but if there is an account reset in November again like last year and 1 night was missing to get Gold status I am tired of that Marriott card as the benefits start only at Gold level. So the Ritz card would have been a much better choice for me.

Yeah you can have both for sure, just like you I applied for the Marriott before I was aware of the benefits that the Ritz card had. I decided to apply for it and was approved and eventually plan on PCing my Marriott card or moving the limit and closing it out. But I'll continue to enjoy the free room until then.

Thanks for sharing, I was going to PC to the Ritz but I'll just apply and will PC the Marriott (if I can) when I no longer have a use for it.
Thank you all for your inputs, I will let you guys know how it goes after I apply.
Thanks again
