SAKS WEMC Approval $8.3K …NO HP

I decided to check out the pre-qualification on the Saks MC just to see what would happen. I had a Saks MC until 2017...which I loved...but had decided not to pursue again because Cap One would only approve for a store card online. With Comenity taking over and allowing customers to apply directly online for the MC, I figured I would see what was up.

I got a pre-approval for a SAKS WEMC with a SL of $8.3K...which they said could either possibly increase or decrease after the actual application was submitted. I decided to roll the dice and pull the trigger three days ago.

Instant approval...but when you are approved, they only tell you your temporary credit limit which is lower. When I called in today to the automated system, I confirmed that my SL is $8.3K.

There was NO SUBSEQUENT HARD PULL on EQ, TU or EX. No HP  at all when applying. 

I did get a notification from credit monitoring that my identity was "verified" by Comenity, but no HP. I do have an existing relationship with Comenity, having held both the Bread Amex and the AAA ADVANTAGE for about two years.

Congrats didn't know it moved to comenity tried as was curious was pre-qualified to 10k didn't accept.  Didn't ask income or anything which I found was strange especially for Saks as can spend quite a bit their fair quickly.  Appealing looking design since comenity took over

@CreditCuriosity @Thanks. Now that you mention it, I don't recall giving my income for the pre-qual. I MAY have given it when I accepted the offer. I can't remember. 

The oddest thing for me is the fact that there was no HP on TU, EQ or EX. I'm not complaining.

I also agree that it's a nice design. 

The CL quite conveniently replaces the 8K I gave up when I recently closed my HEB Signature Visa.

I also just tryed the Saks pre approval, it only ask for the last 4 of ssn and address, I got notice that I would get a letter in 4 days and the site just froze hung up I have no luck.

@firefox100  It sounds to me like the page glitched on you. It may have just defaulted to the 4-day letter thing when it froze up. Did you try it again?

I just called Saks creditcard customer service, what difference from the Bread cashback they so nice and you can understand their english they connected me to their credit operations they tryed looking up my application or my pre approval they could not find me in the system. I was told try back in 24 hours to see what reason the lady said I don't think system even generated a request. I was also told if I except offer then it would be hard pull.
