I had a hunch that my Zync card was blacklisting me from upgrading. Everytime I would apply, instant decline and no HP. I pulled the trigger and closed my Zync card last week. After the account was reported closed yesterday on CR, I applied for Gold Charge and was instantly approved! It worked for me
