Thanks for all the positive vibes in this room! Believe me I was shocked! I was expecting maybe a 2 or 3k max SL if I was even approved. I have a fair amount in my Schwab account so maybe that played a factor? To be totally honest I don't understand how my credit profile justified a 10k+ SL from Amex but I'll gladly take it!

Congratulations on your Schwab approval!!! I'm so jealous. I've been with Schwab for years. Have an IRA, brokerage and investor checking. I really want that AMEX Investor card!  Except I have somewhat of a "bad history" with AMEX. Somone fraudulently opened an AMEX card and was able to get it removed as fraudulent, but been scared to app for them since then.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe it's worth an inquiry to app for one of the easier approved cobranded cards like the Delta or Hilton group. Once you're in and establish yourself the sky's the limit.

True.....TBH, if I'm going to make an attempt to get in with AMEX (officially), then I'd rather it be either the BCE or Schwab Investor. I'm just hesitant that's all. I think it's worth the inquiry. That's not the issue I'm mostly concerned about though.

There are a lot of other things I need to consider as far as if/when applying for AMEX goes. I've opened 5 revolving lines between 10/20-4/21 (5/12), they pull EX (4 inquires), one last derogatory remaining AND this fraud thing has me a little concerned. I've tried the prequalify tool on AMEX many times since the fraudulent account was resolved/removed and have gotten zero offers/prequalifies. May have to do with the fraud thing, but I'm not sure. Might have to call them about that one. I'm almost certain I'd get approved but the whole opening 5 lines in less than a year I'm not a fan of.

I'm applying for a mortgage soon-ish (7/22). Since I began my rebuild in 9/20, I've exceeded all FICO scores goals I set in place (specifically F8 and mortgage scores). By then, all my accounts will have aged 12 months, no derogatory and implement AZEO.

It's just that darn itch to apply for that NFCU More Rewards card. I mean technically I can apply now and still by ok by mortgage time, but I'd rather do whatever I can to be at peak scores when it's time.

If it's a cc vs a mortgage, the mortgage wins every time. Not even close. You can apply for a credit card later but don't do anything to jeopardize your mortgage app. I know those shiny new cards are tempting but get that house first and then go on a cc spree 😊. I feel for your situation and hope everything works out for you. Good luck!
