Congrats on the getting back with AMEX. However you have any more details about USAA? Did you burn USAA also, and now have a new account with them again, or was it a new app?

Thank you! I did not burn USAA previously. I had car insurance through them for a few years and a savings/banking account that I funneled petty household cash through for a few years before. Then I inherited some money and moved it through that account. USAA sent a targeted email after a year of activity with larger amounts. It was my first post credit apocolypse account. I haven't attempted another credit product with them though. My EX is a little HP heavy right now.
Congrats on the approvals to the OP!
@youngandcreditwrthyIt's normally it's a double pull (EX amd TU) if you don't have any existing cards with Amex (this was also my experience a yr ago). Subsequent cards are typically SP.
Congrats on getting back in with Amex
@MM787 wrote:During a rough divorce in '08 I allowed 3 Amex cards to charge off. They were never paid. I had been cash basis since then. 8 months ago I began an attempt to rebuild with a USAA Preferred Cash Reards card SL $4500 (now 7500), a Fidelity Rewards Visa SL 9600, a Military Star card $5500 SL and a Discover It Cash $2000. My Starting scores were all around 660s at that time.
A month ago I attempted the Amex preapproval with scores in the 680/690 range and those new accounts. No cards found, letter said too many new accounts. And a derogatory from 120 day late in 2017 on my student loan (since PIF).
Fast forward to yesterday. Since I have started an LLC and I eventually want to have a business relationship with Amex because I travel alot as a nomadic freelancer so I decided it was time to try to get back in.
I applied for the Delta Skymiles Gold first and was approved SL $1000 HP TU 698. After setting up my profile I applied for the Everyday card and was approved with another $1000 SL another HP on EX 684. No other derogs except the old Student loan hit. Util 12% on two 0% int cards, 4% on the other 2.
From what I've read I understand these approvals are barely approvals and the low SL is to be expected. I will use these two regularly for smal purchases and PIF. In the coming year I will apply for a business product if all goes well.
There is hope post blacklist. And my "Member since" on my online profile says 2005. I know there's no backdating but I chuckled when I saw that.
Congratulations on the two approvals. Don't worry about the starting limits. The accounts will grow. Pay in full every month and Amex will continue showing you some love.

I'm a fan of the Amex Blue Business Cash. But since you're a nomadic business person, maybe the travel related cards will be more useful to you.
Congrats on your AMEX Delta SkyMiles Gold & EveryDay approvals
Congratulations! I started with tiny limits too with them and they have grown over the years. Just PIF every week or two and you'll grow. On the business side, give it a shot after some time. They'll soft pull you once you're established again.
Congratulations on your Amex approvals!
Congratulations!
