SunTrust CC Application 4-6 Business Hours??

Have any of you ever seen this? My mom recently app'd for the SunTrust Rewards Card. When she logged into the application status she received this message. It's odd to me that they show a limit to the right of $5k - I would think she's approved maybe with verification?

Yeah, I don't know this because I've never applied with SunTrust but I know some of the smaller lenders allow you to request SL during the app process. That is why I wasn't sure what this might mean. She applied on the 9th so it's been awhile of course the weekend factored. .

I have one of their cards. I have never seen that. Maybe they added manual reviews to the process? My app was a instant approval.

Thanks GMood! She is dying to know and of course I said "no problem I'll get to the bottom of this"....counting on my MF peeps.    But not a lot of data out there about them! 

I want to tell her I believe she is approved but...it could go South. 

Just from seeing that $5k it seems like she's a lock! LOL

Yeah for sure! At least it wasn't an instant denial.
She's probably good to go. SunTrust had a major breach last year. They're being cautious because of it, is my belief.
I've always thought of them as fairly aggressive when pushing their CCs.

When I applied for this card last year, I had to go through additional verification. In the end, I was approved.

However, I don't recall seeing the SL amount during the process; I received a more standard 7-day type message.

While on the topic of SunTrust, @Gmood1 (or anyone else) -- have you tried getting a second card from SunTrust? If so, what was your experience? HP? Did having the first card help?

By the way, for anyone interested, some data points about SunTrust:

• Their cards are available only in markets they serve
• Cards can be cold app-ed online, with no prior relationship
• They very reliably seem to pull EQ (Equifax) only
• Seem to be ok with SLs but not overly generous, their sweet spot seems to be $7,000-$10,000

I haven't tried for another CC from them as yet. I agree, the average SLs seem to fall in the range you describe.
