Quick back story:
I've been deciding on a Visa card for a couple months and really wanted the Uber Visa. Even with the help of all you nice people, I couldn't get the app to show the application. Even calling Barclays got me a "We're not currently accepting applications and to wait until it shows up in the mobile app..."
In a fit for being annoyed, I app'd the US Bank Cash Plus. 7-10 day INSTANT reply. It didn't even feel like I pressed enter. Hahaha. Now I'm a little more annoyed. So, I went to Cap1 and did the pre-qual. Savor showed up. Didn't want to have an annual fee and clicked on the QS link. I thought QS was always MasterCard but it said Visa Signature so I decided to app. Instant approval for $5k. The Cap1 triple-pull wasn't that bad considering US Bank pulled Equifax and I had 0 inquiries. Cool, now to wait for my new CC.
This morning before the gym I was admiring my $1500 Discover SL and decided to push my luck and was approved for $1300 CLI increase to $2800. I'm very happy with that. After the gym, I got my QS so that made my day even better. But there was also a thin envelope from US Bank. I thought it must be my denial letter. Fine... I was ready to take the EQ HP and call it a day. Well, the letter told me to call which I did was was immediately told that I was approved for the Cash+ card. I'm not sure of the limit but the day was definitely better.
Now, there was another envelope from Amex which I tried to 3x almost two weeks ago. Yup, this one was a rejection letter. "Your recent payments are too low relative to your requested total line and your debt obligations with American Express."
I'm not exactly sure what this was about but I'll garden until December after the 12 month anniversary on my Amex personal. I average about 2k a month on my Amex card and pay the previous week charges every Monday. I haven't reported a balance since getting the card last December.
Thanks to all the advice I've received from everyone and the community!
