@UncleB wrote:I'm not 'officially' in the garden, but I have no plans for new applications and I got curious about my seldom-used Belk and Lowe's accounts.
Using the CLI button on the websites, I got the following CLIs:
- Belk went from $3400 to $5000
- Lowe's went from $7450 to $10000
I used my Lowe's card two times all of last year; once last March for $70 and again in December for $35. Today's CLI was the third in the last 12 months, all quite significant since this time last year my Lowe's CL was $470. All increases were via the CLI button. Also, FWIW, these accounts are my oldest, with Lowe's being 12 years old and Belk being 10 years old.
I have used my Belk account a bit more the last few months, even carrying a small balance (due to laziness) over most of last year, with the balance hovering around $150 until around October. This time last year my Belk limit was $400, with all CLIs also being from the CLI button.
Ironically, the one Synchrony card I would truly use the CLI on is my Sam's Club MasterCard, which I won't even bother trying until the end of March, since most people report four months as being the 'standard' period between CLIs. I got an auto CLI back in November (it went from $1500 to $4850) and I put $1k-$1.3k on it each month (and PIF). I know Credit Solutions would likely bump it up now if I called, but I'm doing OK at the moment and in a weird way it will give me something to look forward to... LOL.
Possibly worth noting is this is the first time I've ever received a credit line on a Synchrony account that is rounded to a thousand; until now none of my Synchrony accounts have ever been evenly divisible by 1000, and usually ended in '50', '20', or '70'... until now. It's an interesting observation (at least to me) but likely means nothing.
Anyway, to all my friends out there with Synchrony cards, the CLI button still works!
Congrats Uncle B. Wish I could have similar luck with the luv button, but chat has been my only friend so far. I admire you're willpower in being able to resist the temptation of calling credit solutions. Here's looking forward to many more increases in 2016.
Congrats!!! You might get more by calling CS.
Ron.
Congrats!
Congrats!!!
Thanks, everybody!
I know I could likely do better calling Credit Solutions, but honestly I don't use the cards very often, and I don't have a reason to get super-high limits on either of them. They are my two oldest accounts (by several years) so I plan on keeping them long-term, but I get a larger reward using my BCP over Belk (3% vs. 2.5%) and I rent so there's little use for Lowe's, at least for now.
At least it gives me something to 'play' with every four months or so, or it will until they finally start saying 'no'. Until that happens, I'll continue to share with you the data points so that hopefully it might help somebody else.
Again, thanks!
Belayed congrats! Nicely done!
