Re: TD Cash CLI Approved not worth the hard pull

Hi I agree with you about TD bank creditcards, I have the TD bank cash visa since DEC of 2018 wich started with credit line of 14K you can not get increase with out Hard pull it is like a new application with them just for an increase request. I have checking account with them, have applied for ther new 2% visa card for that reason. I also have 2 credit with US bank and checking account and over past 2 years have been able to get over 25K increases with US bank with hard pulls and not that much spend. I tend to give more business with US bank, if TD bank not les then mile from wher I live I would closed my checking account. Congratulations with increase.

Re: TD Cash CLI Approved not worth the hard pull

While I have not requested a CLI for my TDCash card (my limit of $5,000 is more than enough), I do have a comment on the whole CLI thing; I was recently in my local TDBank branch and got to talking with the manager.  He said, "Any time you want a CLI on your TDCash card, don't ask for it online, come and see me, I'll get you the CLI you want."

As I implied above, my current limits, all $14,300 of them, are well beyond my monthly needs for my cards so I'm not inclined to ask for any increase, but if/when I do want my limit on the TDCash card bumped, I'll be asking my local branch to process the request.

Chapter 13:

  • Burned: AMEX, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and South County Bank (now Bank of Southern California)
  • Filed: 26-Feb-2015
  • MoC: 01-Mar-2015
  • 1st Payment (posted): 23-Mar-2015
  • Last Payment (posted): 07-Feb-2020
  • Discharged: 04-Mar-2020
  • Closed: 23-Jun-2020

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

@Horseshoez

Brilliant.  Will make a point of that for next time.

I find hard to belive that your branch manager can make happen, it is all driven by the computer system. Just for example last year I ask my local manager for free checks om my checking account which I keep 4 figures at least as balance and he said I can't over ride the system. I hope it works for you in the future.

Correct. In some cases, depending on your overall TD Bank relationship, branch staff can bat for you. Ultimately, whether in person or calling to request it, it's evaluated by the system and manual reviews are fairly conservative.  If you have substantial assets (and I mean substantial) with TD Bank, it can leverage moving a mole hill. Otherwise, temper expectations since often times branch staff cannot override the UW's decision.

Re: TD Cash CLI Approved not worth the hard pull

Congrats on your CLI.  I originally started with the TD Aeroplan some years ago.  That was an interesting journey which I've never understood how I pulled it off.  My application was originally denied due to inquiries and sufficient credit elsewhere.  I asked for reconsideration on a humble and to my surprise I went from declined to 22k.  I thought then, as I do now, that someone made a mistake on the limit.  However, I will never look a gift horse in the mouth.  Fast forward a year or so after that card, I applied for another TD card and got a measily $500 limit which is where it sits today Smiley Happy.

Congrats on the CLI!

At least you can ask for one vs. what they do with the Target card.
