TOO Many New Cards In The Last Week

Hello I am new to the forum and think it is wonderful. Up until Feb this year, I had 4 credit cards and my most recent was in 2012. In Feb, I app and was approved for a Citi Simp and in April, Citi DP. In the last few weeks I have been looking and reading the forum. I guess I was bit by the bug and went on an app spree. Last week I app for a Amex BC with a 6,500 limit. Then I tried for a Chase Slate for 3,000. I said to myself, I was done right there. The next day I app for a Chase SP for 5,000 and then a Citi DC for 3,000. Again, I was done. But, later in the week I wanted a CU card. So, I joined Penfed and got the promise card with a 2,500 limit. I was really happy with all of those approvals and I said to myself I am done and will ask for a CLI in 61 days for the Amex and app for a new Penfed of ask for a CLI before the 60 days are up. Well yesterday, I joined and app for the NASA PCR and was approved for 10,600! That was what I was looking for all along. I wanted a card with at least a 10,000 limit. Well, I didnt stop there. I was reading the forum tonight and wanted a Barclay Ring. So, I pushed my luck and app. I got the 10 day notice. As, I read on here I called the recon line and was approved for 5,000. The rep said I have a lot of inquires lately. LOL  I am officially done. I think I have pushed the limit and will garden. I want these cards to mature and get a higher CL over time. All I will do is to see if I can get 3x CLI on the amex and a CLI on the PenFed in 60+ days.  Good thing my new Amex is backdated to 2000 with all these new cards. Is this normal to get 7 cards in a little over 10 days?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Amex no longer backdates...

But congrats on your app spree nonetheless. Nice SLs too. And some members on here have done the same or even more in 7 days lol.

Correct, the card and your online portal may say that, but you won't get the actual backdating benefit (history) on your credit reports for new cards. I believe they stopped backdating back in March/April.

Welcome to MyFico and congrats on your approvals.  And yes, the backdating ship sailed away a while back.

Boo to Amex and thank you!  I still have a lenghty credit history of 16 years. And I believe the AAoA is around 6 years.
