Target Approval- Low Score *Update*

December 1st I was preapproved for the HSN CC. I received a SL of $750.00 with a low 600 EQ score.

My TU score updated to 634. I really wanted the Amazon Store Card as I shop there often with my Prime Membership. I absolutely loveee the same day/2-day shipping. I was denied.. womp womp.

But since I already took a hit to my TU, I decided to jump off the cliff and try for Target since I also shop there a lot for small baby items. I put in my info. I was not expecting much. I read through so many post about the Target card and thought they would pull TU. I was wrong! Target pulled my EQ score just like HSN. EQ stands at 605. I have no clue how I was approved! SL $300.

Now time to sit back for 6 months, let my accounts grow and as some would say CHEO 😂

**Update On SL**: I just reread my email after reading some more Target approval credit limits. Someone stated their temporary limit was $500 & when they received their card it was bumped to $1000. My email states “your temporary limit is $300”. Does this mean my SL is actually more than $300? Imagine???

Re: Target Approval- Low Score

Congrats! Target was my first credit card. I was swindled by the cashier with the 5% off so I applied right then and there (not knowing anything about credit and credit scores at the time). I couldn't even tell you what my scores were back then... Whoops! Luckily I was approved.

I think my starting limit was around $500 and within six or so months they bumped me up to $2,300. It's been a while since then so hopefully they bump me up again soon! Enjoy the 5% off, but be careful, Target is a dangerous store.

Re: Target Approval- Low Score

Thank you! That 5% is going to be great. I buy pampers every 2 weeks! I really have no clue how I was approved haha definitely luck. A little sour because I spent $70 last week at target and just did a $350 grocery at Target Yesterday.

When I seen the approval it said $300. I went to reread my email because of some post on here. It stated my temporary limit would be $300. Would you happen to know if my actual SL is higher than $300? This has never happened before so I am a little nervous but also excited! The plan for this card is buy little & PIF.

I agree Target is a dangerous store. Go in for 1 item and buy 15 instead

Re: Target Approval- Low Score

Sorry to say, but I was just approved about a week ago for the target card, and my *temp* limit was $300, and so was my regular limit. Score was about 20 points higher than yours as well. So it's hard to say. But it seems like they'll probably start you at $300.

Re: Target Approval- Low Score

That makes sense. It would be awesome to have a higher SL but I wont get my hopes up for that with the score they pulled lol

Re: Target Approval- Low Score

I wish they would've pulled EX or TU; both of those scores are 20-30 points higher than my EQ. Lol. But beggars can't be choosers. I'm just glad to have gotten in. I know I'll only put $25 on it and pay off immediately for a couple months hoping for a higher spending limit in the coming months. Goal is to get it upgraded to the mastercard at some point.
