Re: Target CLI

I opened my Target account in May and they gave me a $300 limit.  Yesterday in the mail I got a letter from them saying they'd increased my credit limit to $800.  I had heard they didn't give limit increases, so I'm very happy~!!!  I pay my card off, if not every month, every other month so maybe that had something to do with it.

Re: Target CLI

I opened mine several years ago and got an increase from $500 to $800 about a year and a half ago, but nothing since.  It's killing my "average credit limit" stats, but I like the 5% off purchases at Target, where we do like to shop.  After reading everyone else's stories, they seem to cap @ $800 or so on old cards, and only open new ones @ $1,000 or so.  I think they're trying to give just enough CL to get people to shop in their stores?

Re: Target CLI

Congrats!

I JUST got approved for a Target Red Card a few days ago...after NEVER being able to get one. They truly hated me for so long - I kept reading about how "easy" it is to get one, and I could never make it happen. I just decided to go for it, and I sat there waiting for the the "7-10 day" message, and  instead it was a $500 approval - I was thinking if they approved me, it would be for $200, so I was surprised twice. I did pay off 5 cards, which decreased my utilization quite a bit. Perhaps that had something to do with it.

Credit Rebuild Start Date (3/12)
Oakland County CU Visa ($500) | Capital One Quick Silver One ($600) | Capital One Secured MC ($200) | Walmart ($1600) | PayPal Credit ($1000) | Jared ($3500) | Victoria's Secret ($850) | Gettington ($3500) | Amazon Store Card ($850) | NewEgg Preferred ($2400) | Discover IT ($1500) | Dillard's AMEX ($1500) Target ($1500) | Overstock Store Card ($1200) | Kohl's ($1500) | Old Navy ($650) | Macy's Store Card ($800) | The Limited ($350)

This was bugging me, so I contacted them and asked about the measly CL, and if they would consider an increase without a hard-pull.  They said they did have an internal review process, that it would NOT be a HP, and would I like them to submit?  and I said yes.

Took about a week and a half, but today when I logged on they had increased my CL from $800 to $1,300.  I'll take it!  Smiley Surprised)

Re: Target CLI

Congrats!  I recently called in to see what they would do about my $200 limit and finally got CLI'd to $400!  better than nothing after 8 years I guess.
