Target auto cli after update

Received auto cli from $400 to $600 after September cut. I also updated my info including income in September. I added back the autopay feature as well. I stopped shopping there after no cli for 6 months. I go in and purchase a Starbucks Latte on my Target and leave. Like a mouse in a maze searching for cheese I was trying to wake up the Target CLI computer....my utility finally got down to 80% and I think that may have something to do with the CLI love. My Target is low utility but my other cards are high. 21 point jump in my best score after taking my highest card down to 90% utility. Overall is 80%. Slowly chipping away. After I reach my goal of 10% I am done. Finally learned my lesson. Thanks to everyone on this forum for helpful free advice. I learn something new everytime I read the new posts. Sorry so long a post; have insomnia.

Re: Target auto cli after update

Two things - one, utility: the state of being useful, profitable, or beneficial. Utilization is the word you're looking for, they're VERY different things. Whether a card has utility or not depends not on how much you're using it in dollars, but rather on how useful it is to you. A card you use for a huge sign-up bonus has very high utility but is likely to have very low utilization, other than that needed to get the bonus.

Second - you quit shopping at Target because their banking partner didn't give you a CLI? Wow... just wow...

American Express Blue Cash Everyday - $11,000; American Express Platinum Cashback Everyday - £3,000; American Express Rewards Credit Card - £7,500; Aqua Reward Mastercard - £3,500; Bank of America Travel Rewards - $5,000; Barclaycard Freedom Rewards - £3,500; Citi Forward - $5,800; Discover It - $10,000; Halifax Clarity - £1,500; HSBC Platinum with Rewards - $5,000, MBNA Everyday Plus - £3,500

Congrats.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.

Re: Target auto cli after update

Get everything under 50% and no one will dislik you.  Target dislikes the best cardholders.  If it was synchrony I'd be mad,  but couldn't boycott,  they have accounts with everyone!

You do bring up something interesting. Im going to set up autopay and increase income 100 bucks.  I've had same 1k limit since December 2010.
