I want to give a huge shoutout to this board! Took the advice of getting a CC at a local CU about 9 months ago. I got my first $1,000 card with them. Followed all the Advice in the forums and asked for a cli to $3,500. The CU granted my request and bumped me up to $3500 (wonder if I should have asked for more lol) she said I can ask for an increase every 6 months. Time to finally sock drawer some of these lower limit cards!
quick question though: can I close some of these cards or should I wait awhile and let my AAOA keep growing until I get financing for a house ?
Grats on your Towpath move up
AAoA isnt affected for up to 10 years post close as Fico take both open and closed accounts into consideration. If any have an AF/MF and you can still maintain your minimum of 3 open then I would close those out.

No reason to close cards unless they have annual fees.
Closing cards won't immediately affect your average age of accounts or age of oldest account, because closed cards usually stick around in your reports for many years to come.
Yeah, these forums have helped countless people, it's been amazing to learn all I have here.
Set a reminder for 6 months lol.
Congratulations!
Congrats on your Towpath CLI 👍🏼🎉
