@Anonymous Thank you. I've had this card since 2006 so it's nice to finally have a limit I can work with, without micromanagement being necessary. I'm not an AZEO person but I definitely keep my overall picture in check and that's hard to do on a $500 or $2500 card when home stuff comes up. Lowe's had made all of that a non-factor but it wasn't fun having the HD card also and not really being able to use it. Using the card and not being able to ever avail myself of the float meant I might as well just use cash - no everyday rewards on the card, so a good limit is all that really makes it useful. It's my oldest card by eight-plus years too, so dumping it was not happening. Guess it's time to turn the wife loose in the Xmas section now and let her do her thing ![]()

Lol I'm debating on it - she can do damage on this stuff. She already said her goal was to make it "look like Christmas puked all over our house" so I'm a little scared 😂😂

I mean you've waited long enough for a usable limit, let her blow it out the park. "Keeping up with the Christmas Joneses" Show them (HD) what they've been missing all these years, lol!
Btw, a hp for that amt. is totally worthwhile and true MF style.
@Anonymous wrote:So it's been over six months since I got my first increase on my Home Depot card after having it at its SL of $500 over 14 years ago. In May I was granted a CLI to $2500 via HP on EQ (I'm in NY).
Since it's been over six months and my scorable inquiries on EQ are reasonable, I figured why not? Asked for another $2500 and it was granted immediately. CK immediately pinged me with a HP alert on EQ. Then I got wondering whether Citi was a bank that would counter if a request was too high and thought maybe I had left money on the table since it was an instant approval. Did a little reading on here and saw that counteroffers are a thing.
I went back into my account, hemmed and hawed on it and on whether I was willing to take another HP. In the end, it seemed worth a shot and there was a chance they might recycle the pull they just made so I asked for $10,000 and hit submit...and got an instant approval for that too, interestingly enough without an alert for an additional pull - I know it may happen and show up in a day or so but so far it appears that it may have been done on the original pull. So d*** it, I should've shot for $20,000 but hindsight is crystal clear and I wasn't sure if I was pushing my luck with two requests back to back. $10k is a good and useful limit especially since I also have a $30k Lowe's card, but I'm looking and seeing that I'm only $4600 away from breaking the $100,000 TCL barrier and I want to kick myself again lol. I don't think I'll push it and go for a third increase though - that would probably be too much for a conservative bank like Citi during a questionable economic time like this year. I'll wait and see about more in May, especially since EQ loses its only derog on May 1st. That should be good enough to bump this higher at that point. For now, this will work just fine.
These two CLIs also add up with other recent ones for a total of $12,800 in CLIs since the second week of October. Not a bad haul
Great job @Anonymous proud of ya! Getting any cli from HD is cause for celebration but 2 times in 30 minutes, go app for a Centurian!😆

Ha! My to-date spend with Amex on six cards over two years' time wouldn't likely hit half the minimum monthly spend I'd need to even be looked at for one of those (not that I could ever justify the fees) 😂 I'm definitely happy with what HD is at now though...until May!
@GApeachy she knows the new limit and wants to go back for some things we didn't pick up the other day. And I completely agree that getting a $7500 increase and ending up with what amounts to a 4x CLI is completely worth a HP, more so since it's on EQ and here in NY I think PenFed may be almost my only other lender that uses them. NY is EX's 'hood.
Simply.......you're my hero.....
Grats on the double hit ![]()
CRAs are known to consilidate pulls that are from the same source on same day so they could have and it would never show.
That's good to know for next May if I ask for $15k and get instant approval - thank you 😎
