For us, the ring did not matter, the union did. A ring pop would have been just fine.

Years later, we went with moissanite(tests as a diamond, and sparkles 10xs more) from JTV(jewelry television). It's beautiful and catches the eye. Maybe there's another gemstone she would like?? You could have diamond accents/bands.

Love makes you do stupid things sometimes.  If you're using your head w/o the fog of love considering a 10K ring from a pawn shop is the way to go if you're looking for a deal.  It's like finding the new card that drove off the lot, got registered, and turned back into the dealer and is now marked as used but at a 20% discount.  Jewellery is the same way but at a significantly higher markdown in the secondary market.  Keep in mind most pawn shops pay people 50% of the value they plan on selling it for and you can negotiate lower than the sticker price.  Then you take it to whatever place you want to get it resized and a pretty little box to put it in.

I believe it is about the woman you want to marry.. you would know if she is “materialistic”, loves the finer things or she is like me and others.. a simple woman lol

I picked my ring when I was out with my ex fiancés mother. I had no clue it was a set up for an actual engagement. I tried on different rings with different stones and clarity.. it really helped me see what I truly wanted and not for the sake of how big the diamond was or how expensive it would be.

The fact that you are even thinking to propose.. some woman would even take that and love it up lol

Try to set it up where someone close to you goes to the mall with her and they “randomly” see a jewelry store. Then have her try on rings to see what she likes. I fell inlove with my ring after trying on many and that is the same one he purchased. I had no complaints 🙏🏼

Thank you all for the great replies. My girlfriend is not materialistic at all. Funny enough I am. So I care about the ring size and what not and how sparkly it is and what people say. I know. I am bad in that aspect lol but it is what it is. I did call Tiffany this morning and they bumped me up to 5K for financing. They also told me that they aren’t a traditional bank so they would only report the account if it becomes delinquent. I really like that since it’s a hidden trade line. I’m into the big stone solitaire look right now. Maybe some stones on the sides. Not much. Classic look. I also wasn’t aware that Costco sold Jewelry.
