US Bank Platinum Approval!

I was just approved for an $8,000 starting limit with my US Bank Platinum Card, no annual fee and 15 months 0%. They only pulled my Experian, which was my lowest score at 618. After getting the approval, it instantly jumped 19 points to 635!

I've been banking with US Bank for several years now. I've been on the credit rebuilding road for the past year, and have slowly been working up to applying for a card with them. I'be been trying the prequal website and it offered me the platinum and cash+ cards as options. It wasn't until I received an offer in the mail (and email) for the Platinum that I decided to go for it.

When I tried applying online, it was having some issues with verifying my new address. Sooo.. I ended up having to go into the branch. Good thing I did! My banker was able to extend the 0% interest to 15 months! Plus, I think she worked some magic, because my SL is $8,000! That's my highest line yet! Yay!

Just thought I'd share my experience, as it seemed that going into the branch helped me with getting a better offer.

Re: US Bank Platinum Approval!

If you are interested in product changing the platinum to a rewards card you will probably be able to do that in three month or so.

Re: US Bank Platinum Approval!

That's a pretty Bang Up starting limit from US Bank especially with an upper 600 FICO score.

However i am sure the banking relationship made all the difference with that too.

Congratulations!!

Re: US Bank Platinum Approval!

I do have some old baddies on my report that are due to fall off next year.

It varies between 2 to 4 CO's depending on the CRA.

No collections. No public records.

I'm really suprised they like me this much, but I'll take it! Smiley Happy

I'm hoping to upgrade the platinum to the rewards in few months as was suggested above. Thanks!
