I Just apped using the pre-approval page for USBank Altitude Connect Visa and came back asking to unfreeze Experian despite being a soft pull. So I did, and re-submitted the pre-approval info. It responded with the pre-approval offer.😀
I decided to go for it and it came back with a “CONGRATULATIONS on the APPROVAL” To my surprise though, the SL is a whopping 1 thousand dollars. Really? All my approvals in the last 2 years have been 15 - 25K SL. Is there a reconsideration line for this?
My motive for this card is the No AF, 4% travel and 15 months 0%APR.
DP for this community (prior to this HP):
I’ve had the Altitude Go for 10 months(SL 16k, current CL is 21k) with 60% usage, still on the 0%APR.
I’m 1/6, 3/12(1 is usb), and 3/24(1 is usb).
7 HP (3 mortgage, 3 CC, 1 PL )
US Bank checking & savings, previously had a CD as well.
Congratulations @yam1rts on your approval. Hopefully your credit limit will grow.
Congratulations 🎉 🎉. US bank is known to give low SL at times but you can grow the limit with increases over time.
Congrats on your USBank Connect approval! In the past, you could recon, but it would be another hp. Not sure if that is still the case.
I would assume, from my experiences with U.S. Bank, that the $1k starting limit on the Connect is because you're at 60% usage ($12,600) with the Altitude Go and still on the 0%APR deal. Had you zero'd that out and not been on the 0% APR deal, I am sure they would have given you a much higher SL. So, I say just wait and watch it grow.
At any rate, congrats!
Congrats on the enemic USB Approval.
They are notorious many times with Start Lines. My Smartly approval was a toy $500 so i straightway closed it that same day.
I refuse to been HP again and they WILL without a doubt IF you call to reconsider.
@yam1rts They've always pulled TransUnion with me, every time. Must be a location thing.
Also, every time I try to use the pre-approval with a credit bureau frozen, I get the 7-10 day message and they send me a letter in the mail telling me they couldn't do a pre-approval, since the bureau was frozen, but I can unfreeze (TransUnion) and call in and they'll process it. But, be advised anyone that does this, once the pre-approval has been denied and you're sent a letter, you either have to wait until the application is deleted from the system (30 days) or just go ahead, unfreeze the credit bureau, and properly app for it. That's what each letter (and CS on the phone) has told me. You are lucky you got a notice back right away saying to unfeeze Experian and try again. That hasn't been my experience, and I play with their pre-approvals a lot. They also, for some reason, don't soft pull right away, so if you unfreeze your bureau, try the pre-approval, and then freeze the bureau a bit later, you'll end up with the letter in the mail. I've tried this a few times with ten minutes, thirty minutes, and an hour. That's just been my experience. Nice you were able to unfreeze and try again right away!
Congrats on the approval @yam1rts!
My experience with a lower SL approval was back when I applied for an Altitude Connect (which is now my Cash+). SL was 10k, but I called in for a recon. Rep indicated it would cost another HP to have it reviewed, which I consented to, and following a brief chat with a uw rep, the limit was boosted to 25k. The uw rep that reviewed it was super chill, saw my other card (Alt. GO which was/is 25k) and matched it without much conversation. That was a few years ago, so I'm not sure if that process is still the same, so ymmv.
