Uber approval with successful recon SL

Well I jumped the fence already but had a reason, trying to get all INQ out of the way now because I want to buy a house next year and this is only card left I wanted to add because it would be very useful to me.  I figured if I got denied it was not meant to be.  I had a feeling I would be approved though but with a low SL so I had the recon number on speed dial when I hit submit lol.

Sure enough instant approval for $500 SL.

So I called and spoke with a very nice lady, I was actually surprised at how pleasant and helpful she was.  I asked if it was possible to reconsider my SL on the card because I want to be able to use it and not have it kill my UTL if I let the statement report a balance, she said of course and asked how much I was looking for.  I told her $5000 would be great but anything extra would help.

We had a nice chat as she went over my report and asked me questions it.  Like why I didn't have any CC's on there before 2015 and I was honest about not being responsible with credit in my younger years but as you can see I am now.  She complimented me on my perfect auto loan payment history and said that is in line with Barclay standards.  She didn't ask about my 1 collection or my late student loan payments  which I was expecting to have to answer to.

After putting me on hold for a few minutes she came back with a new SL of $2500!!

and said with responsible use they will grow it.  I was expecting maybe $1000 if they did reconsider at all so I am very happy with that.   All in all it was painless.  I have never had a CC company get so up close and personal with me and not just base it on the standard info in the reports.  I know people either love or hate Barclays but right now I am loving them lol

Some DP's-

Initial SL $500 reconned to $2500

TU pulled 686

10 total INQ, 4 in the last 6 months (3 last month)

3 new accounts since Dec (but Amex isn't reporting yet so I hope that doesn't become an issue with Barclays)

6 total new CC accounts since March 2018

1 collection from 2013 and several late student loan payments last one in 2015

And thank you to everyone in this forum because I would never have known it's possible to recon a denial or SL or how to make CC's work for me with rewards.  All the knowledge shared on here is truly invaluable.

Thanks! My plan is to use it mainly for dining and travel.   My PP 2% is going to be my go to for anything else unless it's a rotating Discover catagory or Amazon purchase.  I am just figuring out how to take advantage of CC rewards thanks to this forum, I used to pay everything with a debit card, the horror lol.
