Only 2 weeks in the garden and I'm having issues....I was approved in July for the SW Premier, but since the CSP offers the same 2 point for SW and I've already met my spending for the SW 50,000 pts, I really won't have much need for it so it's sitting in the sock drawer. I figured if I did get the CSP, I'd close the SW before the Annual fee next year and move the CL to my Freedom (I've had this card since 2005).
I was originally planning on buying a house in Spring but I've decided to wait until Spring 2015 to allow me to save more money to put towards my house. I'm sitting in a really good rental situation that is a good fit for me and my daughter.
I just recently opened an Amex BCE (August) so I'm not sure what that would look like at this point either.....I thought I was set to sit tight but I realized I would benefit more from the Sapphire than the SW Premier now that I've received the bonus points. I don't have an issue with waiting to apply, but I just don't want to miss the 40,000 bonus they're offering if this card will benefit me. My SW is the only travel card I have and I'd really like to start saving all these benefits to work a trip in once my daughter turns 4 in less than a year.
Can you all do your thing and make your arguments to TRY to shake some sense into me?
Had to call in because I added an authorized user.
****Approved with CL 7K - I guess it was meant to be.
It's really your call to make if you think chasing the bonus is worth it. You're well aware of your two new recent cards so you have to decide if the hits to your inquiries and AAoA are something that you can deal with.

AAoA for Ex is 6.1 years (w/out the new Amex reporting), oldest account 13.7 and TU is 5 years (w/out the new Amex reporting), oldest account 10 years. They've never pulled EQ for me. Ex score 711, TU 718 - not sure what it is with their internal scoring, of course. If approved, that means 2 new accounts will be reported...do you know how badly that would affect my current aaoa?

I wish I could. The CSP is on my list but I am waiting until Jan. if your inq's/new accts are low then I would go for it!
Thanks! so no red flags are rising with this one?? I feel bad at my poor attempt to Garden.....lol

If I have opened more cards than you, then you should be okay. You can always move 5k to open the CSP.
May 2013 - 3 new accounts. Gained 2 TU and 1 EXP inquiries.
June 2013 - CSP approved 5k. Gained 1 EXP
Two days ago - United explorer card approved 5k. Gained 1 EXP
I've had my freedom for almost 9 months now.
I guess I'll give it a go and see what happens. I thought if I made my post and the whip started cracking that I wouldn't move forward....but it doesn't seem to be my worst idea. Thanks for the post!
Let us know how it goes!! Goodluck!!!

I received a decision pending message, which I didn't receive with the Southwest Card:
We need additional information from you before we can process your application.
So.....they're reviewing as I type. I'll let y'all know!
