Piggybacking off of the thread I had in applications, I figured I'd share my stats now that I got approved for the Propel.
I opened up a WF checking account earlier this year, primarily to build up the oft-discussed "relationship preference" that the bank has for its issuance of credit cards. After about 5 months I started having offers for the Cash Wise Visa show up on my account page, and WF had been bombarding me with mailers for that card a lot lately. I already had the Chase FU and didn't need another 1.5x card & I was always set on the Propel anyway.
Anyways, I finally had an offer for the Propel show up on my account & I applied straight away. There was no instant approval, surprisingly, and the app went to pending. After calling in and verifying my contact info on Saturday, I was told that further action would be taken on the application on Monday. Well, after logging into my account this morning I saw that the Propel was added, and that my SL is $5500!
This puts me at 5/24 but only 1/6; I went through an app spree late last year through January and got approved for 4 other cards across Chase/Cap One/FNBO (the grandfathered Ducks Unlimited 5% gas card). I may apply for the Penfed Pathfinder if that card is ever reopened for new applicants, but that wouldn't be until next year anyway. Technically the Propel is my first Amex, so maybe I'll give those cards a closer look down the line.
