@Anonymous wrote:So I couldn't resist this morning. I applied for a BofA credit card. I was approved. Only 1000.00 which I feel is low. But I'm ok with it. However they also offer a MLB credit card that I would love to use during baseball season. I was denied. So I'm assuming 2 HP. I told myself I would not apply anymore. Is anyone else addicted like me?. I want all my inquiries removed. I think I have 10 now. Some will be removed this year. I feel this is bittersweet. What do you all think?
When the first app only yielded a 1,000 limit that should have been a sign that a 2nd approval was unlikely. Take the card, build some history, and try again in 6 months. BOA is conservative, generally. They aren't known for doling out card after card, and they like to see history before giving more credit. With the low limit on the first card, the denial on the second is unfortunately not surprising. But you have something to work with so you can try again later.
+1
OP you have no idea that you just landed gold if you don't push things too fast with them.
As mentioned BofA is (understandbly) very careful "especially" with new card customers. Use the card (and limit) PIF, etc. and prove them some history and in 6 months (and every 6 thereafter) given you haven't too aggressively piled on too much utility or new cards, you WILL be pleasantly surprised. It's just the nature of BofA. In my experience i found them extremely generous in more ways than one and will often go an extra mile to meet card customer satisfaction.
In other words go slow with them, you are new, and in time you can realize incredible growth as well as plenty of occasional extra bonus offers.
This is it! BoA is very easy to get along with once you are in. Treat it well and use it wisely, it will be sure to grow for you!
Omgosh. Thank you all for the replies and info. I do have around 10 inquires. Most of them are with credit approval. My discover card is the highest I have. 4500.00. I will use that one and BofA as my main ones. Like to put gas, buy little things here and there. But for sure I will not apply to anymore credit. Lol.

Don't know your credit needs schedule or strategy or if you even have one yet
A lot of us sometimes just wing it but not saying just because landing your first BofA card that you need to stop. Not always that important but can be. What is important is that running up close to your first eligibility for a BofA CLI that you not add on new accounts. Basically just spread them out reasonably (well before) and you should be fine. BofA is very competitve once your full ahead in progress/history with them and they are pretty good in making sure that they show well against other lenders.
