While waiting for my Penfed credit card app to process (explained in-depth below) I saw an email from Wells Fargo that said I was pre-screened to apply for their Active Cash Card. This is the closest thing to an offer that I received over a 12yr relationship. I've had a checking with them solely for my tenant's rent payment. This acct has never had a balance over $2500 at any given time. Matter of fact, the balance before I applied was $75, so I zelled $500 to the account just in case the acct balance was a factor during underwriting. I applied and was instantly approved for $5k SL with 0% interest for 15 months and a final APR of 19.9 %. That's 5 approvals in about a 2 week time span. (I'll list all approvals at the end)
As for, Penfed, I think they hate me. I applied for membership going on 3wks now. I was a former Penfed member while working at the Pentagon, in good standing, but closed the account years ago. Someone decided to link my new app to my old acct and jacked something up. I have had to send my identity verification docs 4 times because of it and each time they tell me that I'll hear something in 48hrs, still waiting. Out of sheer rebellion, I decided to go ahead and apply for a Penfed credit card. I immediately got the notice from Equifax that they pulled my report then, just my luck, the screen got hung up and I watched it continually cycle with "processing application" on the screen for over 10 minutes. I eventually shut the darned browser down. I thought that may prompt an email, but it's now been an hour and nothing. So, I have no clue what the status of my app is. After I wrangle with them Monday, approval or not, I'm going to go sit in the garden for at least 6 months. Applying for credit is mentally exhausting. Although, I haven't done too bad on this spree....

Chase: $5000 (prior relationship, responded to offer)
Apple: $8000 (prior relationship as iPhone and Mac owner, if that even counts)
NFCU: $7100 (such a random limit, no prior relationship, opened new acct and applied)
Sofi: $4500 (got a wild hair, no prior relationship)
Wells: $5000 (prior banking relationship, responded to offer)
Penfed: ???? (Prior banking relationship, account closed several years ago)
