Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa Signature. 2nd time's the charm!

Short and sweet version: Approved for 8.5K at 22.49% APR (0% for 12 months). Pulled EX, 741. Overall UTI is 5.5%. Income low six figures.  The packet of info confirms the $200 SUB. This puts me over $350K in available credit across the board. Not gonna help PenFed convice them I'm not an Egyptian!

The Novel version:

Last October I took advantage of the $200 Everyday checking bonus and tried to get the Cash Wise also for another $200. No go, too many inquiries. Tried reconning and they just didn't like my new accounts. Fair enough, I had a lot from my March spree. Cut to a year later when those new accounts have aged a year, and having a checking account with them I tried again. Interesting thing I noticed is they seemed to back date my Platinum debit card back to 1995 when I first use them exlusively. I closed my WF account long ago. So not sure how my history I really have with them. Also, since they aren't my primary bank I wasn't sure my $37 currently sitting in there would help. I had read someone say they want $50 in there?? It went to pending because my reports were frozen (I was trying to garden, I swear). Unfroze it and tried again, declined since I still have the pending app. Called in and they procesed the earlier app. Kept calling the status line and to this day it still says declined, it keeps giving me the message for the duplicate application. On Sat, I logged into my online account and I had some new paperless options to fill out, and then it dawned on me, it's for the credit card! Sure enough, I see the 8.5K VS in my online account. I got the card today. Don't care about my APR. It's 0% for a year and I'd be PIF anyway.

I would have not tried again but I had read many DPs that WF wants a relationship. I was counting on my newly opened checking account to assist in the matter. I would like a 10-15K limit though, anyone have experience reconning the SL? TIA!

Re: Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa Signature. 2nd time's the charm!

I never ended up reconning my starting limit of $8,500. I had asked for a CLI a few months ago and was denied. I had all credit reports frozen at this time.

Last night I applied for a card at another bank and unfroze. I figured since I was already thawed out to give a CLI request a go again. I asked for $20,000. It was countered to $10,700 or I could have a HP and it be sent to the lending department. I took the SP CLI. I believe I needed to have waited 6 months and have my report unfrozen for this process to work for my first CLI. (Synchrony is same way with me. Even though it's always been a SP for me they won't ever give me anything until I thaw out my reports). I asked if it was a 6 month cycle each time and the rep says he has seen it at 4 months as well. So maybe I can get my next CLI at 4 months, and hopefully a SP again.
