Wells Fargo Propel approval

Though it occurred a few months earlier than I planned due to Wells Fargo's impending discontinuation of the card, I just applied for and was automatically approved for a Wells Fargo Propel credit card.  Wells Fargo also provided me a credit limit that met what I wanted.  More details:

*Card: Wells Fargo Propel American Express

*Credit Limit: $10,000

*APR: 0% for first 12 months, TBD after that (haven't carried a credit card balance for probably at least 15 years, so that value isn't too important to me)

This card has been on my radar since last summer, mainly due to the wide variety of 3% rewards/cash back categories, especially streaming services, gasoline, and to a lesser degree travel.  (My Bank of America AAA Member Rewards card also provides 3% cash back on travel, but it is good to have an alternative card.)  I also like having another 3% rewards card for dining, similar to the Capital One SavorOne, Chase Freedom Unlimited, and Chase Freedom Flex.  The timing wasn't ideal - I just applied and was approved for a Capital One SavorOne Mastercard less than two weeks ago, and both streaming (Discover It Cash) and gasoline (both Discover It Cash and Chase Freedom Flex) are 5% rewards categories in Q2 2021, but with the Wells Fargo Propel being closed to new applications on 4/19/21, I wanted to get the card while it was still available.  I do have some large spend items (in particular I've been planning to buy a new iPhone off-contract) that I can put on the card to meet the bonus, and I can figure out ways to meet the bonuses in an optimized way on both this card and the Capital One SavorOne.

The Wells Fargo Propel will be my first-ever Wells Fargo credit card.

My next card targets is likely the US Bank Cash+ Visa, though I may apply for the similar Elan Financial Services Max Cash Preferred instead.  (I have a preference for the US Bank version of the card because I want to apply for the Max Cash Preferred card at an out-of-state bank that I belonged to when I was in graduate school that I have a soft spot for, and I'd like to have the US Bank Cash+ in hand before I apply for my targeted Max Cash Preferred option.)  It is also possible my next card application will be for a flat 2% rewards and no foreign transaction fee card through my credit union (PSECU); I need to decide if I want to get fully into the Chase Ultimate Rewards ecosystem or not.  Because I've applied for and received two cards since 3/30/21, three cards since 11/9/20, and four cards since 6/29/20, I'll wait until at least October 2021 and possibly May 2022 to apply for my next card.

The pushy salesman title still belongs to @AllZero!!! I'm just the one with random mathematical statistics running through my head. 😂

Yeah, I thought about waiting for a few more days to see if Wells Fargo makes an announcement about a potential replacement card in their credit card lineup, but then I thought 1) if they planned to make an announcement prior to cutting off applications they probably would have already made it and 2) if I wasn't automatically approved and had to wait a week for reconsideration, I might not be able to get the card due to the 4/19 discontinuation date.  So I decided to go ahead with the application today and see what would happen.  Obviously I received good news.
