Yaknow I'm not sure.  I lived with no CC for a long long time.  I had just student loans and a really old car loan and cc reporting from many years ago.  My first recent credit account was a car loan December 2013.  Tried  for a CC that following April and that was what I got.  Decent income, no baddies.

No triple pull and AF for me, thank you.  In the garden since 6/1/15 and likely to stay there for a while.  Cards I'm eyeing would be Ring, CSP, IHG.  Possible CLI on Citi double and/or Sallie

Get the Venture and then PC to Venture One when the annual fee comes due.

If you got an 8k SL on your first credit card, you might end up getting approved for a 50k Venture! Who knows.
