What was your Credit Steps CLI if you already got a CLI before the six months was up?

I'm curious!

If any of you got a CLI on your Capital One card before Credit Steps completed - what was your CLI after it did complete?  (I've heard that even if you got a CLI, people were still given their Credit Steps increase as well.)

My cards went from 1k/2k to 3k/4k when I asked for an increase when the cards were around four months old.  They should both complete Credit Steps at the end of this month.

I'm personally hoping that at least one of them will go over 5k so I can convert the card from a Quicksilver One to well, anything better than that.  Smiley Happy  (I've heard World is better than Venture?  I think I'd rather just apply for a Venture by itself to get the sign-up bonus anyway though.)  Not that they'd PC a mastercard to a visa anyway.  I think Venture is Visa only?

Ooooh, I just now read about Cap1 allowing (or soon allowing again) you to combine limits!  If I can get another 3k between these two cards to combine to a 10k card, that would be amazing.  Especially if I can somehow also snag a 10k Venture.  Smiley Happy

When I had Credit Steps cards they did not allow customer requested CLI. If you called and requested it was always an automatic denial.

Both of my Credit Steps were exactly as stated on my welcome letter. It was $500 by the 7th statement.

I have seen many forum members who got CLI before Credit Steps saw their Credit Steps CLI be for more than what they were told in their welcome letter.

YMMV.

I thought they'd deny a CLI too since I was still in Credit Steps, but I pushed the Luv button, and voila!  Smiley Happy

I know it doesn't always make a difference, but I've been using both cards heavily, and making payments several times each month so I never carry a balance - or an extremely small balance.  I'm hoping that helps prod them a little!

I'm actually considering a large purchase that I'd immediately pay off before this last statement cuts, but it probably won't make a difference.

I was told both of mine will be $500 increases as well - hopefully they'll both be at least $1000.  I should be happy with whatever I get really, since they were already generous with the 4-month mark CLI.

When my QS1 was in steps, I did the early CLI thing. It went from $500 to $1500. Then when steps was completed I got the promised $500 increase, not a penny more. of course YMMV.

I got a 4k increase on my Journey card once credit steps completed. I went from 1k to 5k. I did not request any increases on that card, I waited until the auto increase for credit steps. I used that card very heavy for the entire 5 or 6 months I was in credit steps, and made multiple large payments each month. Sometimes I carried a balance, and sometimes I PIF.

C1 Credit Steps was the first card I was approved for when I started rebuilding. I was approved for $300, and after the 7th statement I was moved up to $500. I had requested a CLI but was told that there were no CLIs available for the Credit Steps and they wouldn't remove my $19 AF and with all of the other credit lines I had, one being $17.5K, it was pointless to pay $19 for a $500 CL so I cancelled them. Still happy they gave me a chance when nobody else would.

I guess if they only gave me $500 on my 4k card, I could try calling the EO to see if they could bump it from $4500 to $5, and request a PC at the same time.  Or combine my two cards that would = more than $5k if that is allowed, the PC from there.  Hmm!

Both of my credit steps cards received 2K increases (1K->3K on each) prior to completion of the program and each received an additional $500 on the 7th statement.

Apparently you can't call the EO anymore. I guess the EO was being used too frequently for trivial requests, and now the number goes straight to frontline CSR. In case you're not aware, Capital One is beginning to allow us to combine cards into one (it went live yesterday, but they took it down because of issues). So once it goes live again, I think your best bet would be to combine the cards into one for a higher CL.

My Capital One Platinum ended the credit steps this month.  I received a 100 increase at the third statement cut and then this month I received another 500.

Thank you for the wealth of knowledge I have learned from these forums. I am logging off as of November 9, 2022. I wish everyone great success.
