The statement above says it all really. US Bank is known for being very stingy for approvals as we all know. They would not touch me for years until last year. Last August I was able to get the Cash + at like 8/24. It was not easy mind you it took several days of verification and documents but they ultimately approved it and for a whopper $30k which floored me. I thought I would get the standard $500 treatment. Then fast forward to March I apped for the Altitude Reserve fully expecting to get denied. This time it was just verification that I applied and I was approved. It was for only 5k though which slightly irritated me over the SL but I use it a ton so I hope to get a CLI as soon as possible. Then a few days ago like a greedy fool I apped for the Altitude Connect Business card and was approved instantly for 10k. It just got better. I read that another person was able to get another approval within a day or so of another approval for a differant card. I dont have to worry about 5/24 anymore or much of any 24 anymore as I have all that I want from most lenders I deceided to roll the dice yet again and the next day applied to the Shopper Cash Rewards card just because I can. It took another verification call and 3 days of waiting but I just got the approval email a few minutes ago for 10k. So I guess keep trying if you want something from US Bank. They have been an absolute pleasure to deal with.
PS: It defnitely helps if you open an account with them and keep some money in there for a few months. Its what I did. I hope for any of you also.
Congrats on your multiple US Bank approvals!
Congratulations!
I completely agree, when they like your profile they are very generous. I have many accounts there; two checking, a savings, 4 credit cards and a LOC. They just keep approving.
It's have never really had any issues that I can remember.
You should give it some time and then go for the LOC. It can easily convert to cash into your checking account and they send you a card as well.
Awesome! Yeah, I'm just patiently waiting it out with them before jumping into more of their cards / products.
It was a nice touch for sure to get a phone call from a personal banker introducing themselves after I opened a business + personal checking along with my Cash+ card a week prior to that.
Enjoy the floodgates that they've opened for you! A pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for sure, lol.

Congratulations on all those approvals. They like you. They really like you ![]()

Wow! Congratulations on your multiple approvals!
@hawkins What verification documents did they ask for the the 30K card?
Congrats on your new card
Congratulations on your new found liquidity!
US Bank is only hostile to those it thinks are the enemy to success. Generally that would be new customers that are out of area because the bank has no idea if they are nice or out to get it. To side step this you can go into a branch so they get to know you but that is not available everywhere. Once you have existing accounts with US Bank the formula changes. As manager of accounts US Bank can see exactly how you send funds on those accounts and has wide options on what they can do. If they have to they can remove the doors off the hinges because they believe your a good customer.
Congrats on all of the approvals! Hope to be in the same position as you next year.
