boa cli!

Have a boa card that I requested a cli on yesterday, from what I read, most cases it is a sp, requested 12k and got a 7-10 day message. Figured it was a denial and I didn't want a hp from a recon. Logged in this morning and I show 12k available. I haven't been using the card as much, not sure why they didn't show me more love when it was my daily card and I was pif every week.

Re: boa cli!

You were right, updated my tu on smart credit and it was a hp. Luckily on TU, none of my other creditors use that report other then discover. Got a SP cli in April, was hoping my luck would carry forward

Re: boa cli!

I am getting close to doing one for B of A, and it will be a HP on TU..  But my MyFico TU as of yesterday was 793, and only one INQ., so I am going for 20k, from 10k.  Had the card 14 months now.

We will see.

Your taking a HP and they are going to Manual review why not ask for $25-$30k... I mean you have more than that from Chase it's just amongst more than 1 card.  They will counter.

Re: boa cli!

Agreed. BofA's generosity with credit limits rivals that of Amex. 2x and 3x increases are frequently reported on this board. I remember someone getting even 10x.

Re: boa cli!

In my case, would it be possible to ask for a larger cli since it was a hp? I was considering closing the other tradeline I have with them and consolidating credit limits, but didn't because of the hard pull. I just don't want to call asking for additional and end up with a cld or similar. I have a relatively high util on the card that got the cli, it had a 1300 balance at the statement cut date but now has a credit balance. I have no other balances.

$1300 on $12k? seriously? I can't imagine any bank considering that high util but especially if it's with the bank you are requesting the CLI, they can see if you have had the balance for long long time like you are struggeling to pay or something... but I wouldn't worry about it if you had a $6k balance!

I checked back a few months statements, average spend was around 7k a month on it for the past year or so. They denied me a cli in November, citing high balances. I was on average carrying 2-3k each statement. There words not mine, it was a soft pull and that util reason was told to me by the analyst. It wasn't carry over balances, it was always from new charges. It was a sp so I never took it further. The analyst told me to wait until I had a 0 balance for them to look at it.

Since they gave me a cli already, should I ask to combine and close the smaller card. Not sure if its similar to poking a sleeping bear.

Congrats

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
