I was accepted for a U.S. Bank secured credit card in January. Second month in a row I've only charged about 10% of credit line and paid off in full on due date. This is my first credit card in 15 years. Today in the mail I got a "you're pre approved" letter from capital one and there was no asterisk after so I opened it. Sure enough, went to website and entered in registration code and boom....unsecured credit card with no annual fee.

That made me very happy.
