hi everyone, im always on here but never actually post. i wanted to share my experience with chase..ive have their chase freedom since 9/11...started at 3K cli and over the year and half was raised to 5500...bout a week ago i requested another cli and was denied...so i decided to call the recon line....the representative asked about a high balance on my citi card (5500/6000) and i explained it was actually only a $2500 balance, it just hasnt reported to the credit bureas yet..he was satisfied with that answer and granted my request to match my USAA credit card credit limit which is $8k...
anyway ive been trying to get a pc from chase freedom to chase sapphire preffered for 6 months now using the secure message center and contacting their customer service line but was always told no...so after reading a post on here i decided to call the executive office and ask....the nice lady said i was not eligible for it and i asked what exactly is it that they look for when they determine eligibility...she said she doesnt know and she would look into it for me and get back to me...Well yesterday i get a call from a lady at the exceutive office and she tells me the reason was because my card needs to be a chase freedom signature in order to pc to CSP...so she said she would pc me to signature then to CSP!!!! chase works super fast...i alrdy have a tracking number for the card from UPS which is expected to be delivered monday!!!! kudos to chase for excellent customer service!!! i dont know if it helped their decision but i have a relationship with chase for almost 8 years...

Wow! Good for you. Hopefully the pc goes through in the end. I want my freedom to become a signature but have to wait 2 more months. Congrats !
Is it possible to apply for the Freedom Signature right off the bat? I've looked at Chase products and I don't see the option.

I think it's automatically a Signature if your CL is over $5K? (So same app but just depends on what you're approved for)

Congrats! I applied for the Chase freedom but got declined due to my recent CSP account opened. They told me they wanted to see some history with the CSP before they approve the CF. I've already called twice to the analyst recon line and got denied both times. BUT, I think I may call a third time, because there's a balance on one of my credit cards of 2800/4900. But I just recently made a semi large payment of 500.00. So I want to see if they'd consider that since its also not on the credit bureau just yet. Thanks for the post! Hopefully i'll get the same positive response.
