Ok, not sure if this is just coincidence or maybe a hidden opportunity...
I did 2 product changes in the last 2 weeks (Amex Delta to Blue - 2 weeks ago) and Citi Platinum Select to Citi Diamond Preferred (today). I had some lates just shy of 2 years ago, and hadn't gotten anywhere for CLI requests...repeated denials) I was turned down just yesterday (I called) by Citi for a CLI on my Plat Select (now 5 mos old).
After the Amex switch I clicked the button yesterday and got a $1k increase to $1500. The when I was on the phone with the Citi rep today for the product switch, I asked for a CLI at the end of the conversation. Approved, after being denied just yesterday! Went from $1,900 initially (Feb 08), to auto $2400 last month, to $4k just now. All in the last 5 mos...
BTW, I've had good useage (~ 20% util avg) on both and PIF'd within the last month. My TC fako's average about 650...nothing special...3 new cards withing the last year (Juniper, WAMU and Citi). I've got some older baddies (lates and paid collections). Only thing I have are CCs, no store, installment, mortgage.
Has anyone else had any luck with CLIs after a product change, especially after getting recent denied on very recent CLI requests? The recent approvals were both soft pulls.
