I applied for a third account and received a denial letter you have two many capital one accounts?? Is this true I hear you can have a third.
The only way is to get co branded cards from Cap1 to get more than two.
So I applied for a Journeys Reward Visa and received this decision. But earlier last month I applied for the Venture card through capital One and received a denial. So the venture card is co-branded and the journeys is not?? I thought they both were just capital one cards.

Venture card is not co-branded it is cap one own card

They are both Cap1 cards. The examples of co branded would be the sony card or playstation card.
edit: you were probably denied for the Venture but would have been approved for the journey until they discovered you already had two Cap1 cards.
You can technically have more than two. I have three accounts with them but one of them happens to be an Orchard Bank card that was converted during the HSBC transition. But yes, the general rule is no more than two.
I have 2 Quicksilver cards and the GM card. I was told by an EO that 2 C1 cards is the limit and 5 total cards is the limit when you add the cobranded cards as well

Is one of your cards a secured card? I can't tell what you mean by your signature, but if it is, close it and get your money back. You have more than enough unsecured cards to build a history with that you don't need to tie up that much money in a secured card. Also, I sent you a private message with more questions / info.
I have 3 Capital One cards also. Two in house cards and one former HSBC card that was transferred during the move.
When looking at the cards for average credit, it seems to cap you at two.
I just looked at the terms and conditions for the Venture and it says:
By applying, I understand that I am not eligible for this offer if:
So looks like they have a little more leeway when it comes to their cards for "excellent" credit as opposed to "average."
