I recon BofA for secured and was given it with 2 BK's so that's not true.
I thought so too. This was my 1st card 6 years ago and I used it for 4 months to jump start my credit score before closeing it.
What may have worked for you Creditaddict did not work for me.

I mean they later closed it for the delinquencies that were always there but none the less I had it for over 1.5 years and it was unsecured with CLI
BofA gave me a secured card in Jan 2009--the same month that Verizon incorrectly and illegally updated my 2005 charge off to show that it was a charge off starting January 2009.
Capital One gave me two credit cards in 2007 despite having TWO unpaid charge-offs with them in 2005.

Capital One blacklists too.
Yes...I had a paid CO from July 03. Tried for card in summer of 09....Nope! They sent me a letter stating past history was reason for denial & that no hard inq was made. Never saw it on my reports, so it seems they keep old info on record....run your ssn through their system first & if nothing comes up, hard pull & determination.

what card did you apply for, I would apply for there most basic card for worst credit. I have burned them 2 and when im declined now it's becuase of bk not past capital one accounts. but they do approvals completely automated so if you try for a better card than they will give you they don't counter a lower card
If you've been there & burned them...I wouldn't touch this. It will be a waste.

You state you had the card for 1.5 years. A lot has changed in the last 1.5 years, and in fact they state very clearly when you speak to them now that recon overrides are no longer available and that they are not allowing BKs anymore.
A ton has changed recently.

USBANK Use to be bk friendly you just have to have scores above 680, has this changed?
Yes, they state very clearly on their application page that you can get a card as long as you are in their supported states, and have noBK within the last 10 years.
If you include Orchard Bank in a BK they will not give you a secured card or credit card..this goes for all HSBC products as well. This is my experience.
