I see! Not to derail, but my wife is in a similar situation. But she has 1 collection still on her account. It's about to come off, and I'm not exactly sure when it was put on there.

I put her as an AU on my double cash and BCP card and it's helped. We paid off her debts she owed and reduced her utilization to 1%, from my cards we use.

Credit Karma gives her a TU of 641 and EQ of 655.

I'm wondering if we should try the QS1 and Platinum card deal. With Cap1 you can get multiple apps with 1 hp?

I was going to wait until April though. She has 2 inquiries from 14 dropping off then which would put her at 1 for TU and 3 on EQ...

Sorry to hijack op, just figured it was appropriate to ask here, rather than start a new thread

12RingKing,

Start a new post in "Rebuilding" and title it "QS1 and Platinum card deal".

I'll reply there with more details.

Re: 2nd Month Rebuilding Progress Report

I kept receiving pre-approved offers in the mail from CapOne. I was initially pre-approved for a Platinum. A couple of weeks later I went back to CapOne pre-approval site out of curiosity and was approved for the Quicksilver One. As SkyBuilder explained, I later upgraded (via online chat) the Platinum to Quicksilver rewards.

What is a smart move when it comes to opting in/out of pre-screened/pre-approved promotions and stuff? Specifically while gardening? I will be gardening while straightening out my student loan mess. If rehab will take 10 months or so, I might as well use that time to garden.

Is there any point in staying opted in? Are the offers a way to gage where your credit stands? By the types of offers you receive? (Already asked on the other board) Opinions?
