Schwab Platinum AF posted. Called and got 50k MRs with no spend requirement.
I've played retention and upgrade/downgrade games with Amex before, but never on this card since I got it 49 months ago.
Schwab spend averages $15k/year. Other Amex cards get about $60k (mostly earning 2x on BBP) for $75k total.
Nice! Congrats on your sweet Schwab Platinum retention offer. Calling in next week for the Hilton Honors Aspire card.
Congrats!
Pays the AF if you cashed it out... Cant really beat that for no spend

Two AFs, comfortably...once I adjust for the Schwab credit and the fact that even with high fees or overpriced merchandise, Uber Eats and Saks credits are still of some value during a pandemic.
Congrats, that's a great offer!

This certainly helps with the question I asked you! Congrats on the retention!

Elaborating on the PMs...
Note that with Schwab, you would have no ability to PC if your travel slows. The upside is the improved cash redemptions and possible loyalty credit. The downside is you're locked in, and if the card isn't working you can only seek retention or close it.
Wow nice offer, congrats!

I was definitely pretty relaxed in my call, talking about the inability to use the perks lately rather than saying the card or company was bad. I think I used the phrase "even a small offer would be great"...and they did not lowball me.
