My CU is my best friend right now. I went in today to sign the paperwork for my car refi which was approved yesterday. I was encouraged to apply for a CC because they already had my cr and wouldn't need to pull it again. I was approved for 5K at 10.99% with no balance transfer fee.
Just to think I tried to get Orchard Bank to lower the 19.99% interest rate on my $700 cl last week and was told that was their best rate. Guess who's getting closed?
Sidenote: Capital One did lower my interest a couple of weeks ago.
Congrats! Nice credit line with a CU.

Congrats!
I wouldn't close the Orchard unless/ until they're about to hit you with a fee again. Keep it going for a while. It'll stay on your reports after you close it that much longer (generally 10 years after closure.)
Nice! 5 grand and no hard pull for the card. Can't beat that!! Plus you're drivin' new wheels. You're having a very good week ![]()
eta: okay, so no new wheels - just a nice refi on the old wheels. Still a very good week!
Got to love it.
Congrats!
congrats on the new CC and high CL, CU are always a great way to apply for credit. also glad they recommended on applying for a CC since it saved you a another inquiry
I would use the Orchard Card sparingly (once a month tops) to keep it open; closing it could impact your Util %.
Which credit union gave you that 5K card?
P.S.---Congratulations!!
Congrats!
Same thing happened to me too...well, I actually got an auto loan instead of refi. They offered me a CC for $5K. This is my 1st credit card over $1K!
Congrats!!
