Re: A Question for Amex Pros ?

I recently added Amex SimplyCash to paypal, for business services that only accept paypal. I called 9 months ago, and the business reps at Amex said there was no problem for goods nor services. They hinted Adverse action occurs when folks use it to personally transfer money to others. That, I can fund my account with cash.

You gonna to cancellation process of your account. I hope it will not occur. But I have experience with this and they cancelled my account for 1 PayPal transaction.

Please stop posting warnings about Amex when your account went bad.  We are not all the same, and I have history.  CL polite warning.

I think your case is a bit different. Didn't you fund you own PP account with your new Amex?  If that is the case it would have happened with VI, MC and Discover as well. It is simply against the terms for all lenders.

Everything I've read here indicates do not use Amex to pay through PP. It sets off all kinds of red flags with them. I believe the issue stems from people using PP to circumvent cash advance fees and interest. Lots of AA come as a result of using pp.

Be careful relying on that and always consider your sources, validate, corroborate, etc.  Everyone does not say "do not use AmEx with Paypal".  There are certain activies that can be seen as risky but standard purchases through Paypal are not an issue.  There are a lot of memes and gross oversimplifcations that tend to get repeated here (e.g. "AmEx hates balances", etc).

1 data point does not define a trend.  The details of your situation matter and you're omitting important information and presenting a flawed assumption.
