Where do I start... Ive recently applied to a string of credit cards within the past 2 months and have landed 3 (Cap1 - 1k, Freedom - 500, and Zync - NPSL). The Cap one was the first I applied for because I figured it would be the only one I'd get approved for. Got an instant approval for the one. Was kinda surprised. The 2nd one was the Freedom. I was denied but with a recon I was approved for $500. So, 2 weekes ago, i got that app itch after doing lots of research here on the site and learned that the zync is a good way to get your foot in the door with amex, so I applied. Instantly approved. I was shocked at that one too. The Amex card that I really wanted though was the blue sky preferred. Sooo, the following day i applied for the Blue Sky. I figured since I was instantly approved for the zync I might as well roll the dice and see if I get approved for the Sky. DENIED. I also 2 days after that applied to the 3rd card I really wanted, the Simplicity MC....DENIED.
There are 3 cards that I untimatley want in my life. The Freedom Visa (eventually the Sig Version), Amex Blue Sky Preferred, and The Simplicity MC.
I would love some advice on the best course of action to secure these cards. Please help. ![]()
Are the freedom, cap1, and zync the only 3 cards you have?
correct good sir.
I would garden for a bit if I was in that situation. Get scores up a bit and then apply for some of the other cards you want. You managed to get two really great cards right off the bat and got your foot in the door with two great companies which will be a great help in the long run. I wish I could've gotten the freedom and zync. haha.
Which cap1 card did you get?
What is your AAoA? If it´s 0, most likely everyone will deny you.
You have gotten 3 cards, maybe let them age and try again in 6 months or a year so your credit profile would be up.
3 years per Eq Fico
the cap1 plat with the $29 annaul fee. 1st year waived.
So I take it you have other things on your report, car loans, mortgage, student loans, stuff like that? If these 3 cards are all you have your aaoa is off by a lot.
If those are your first three cards, just chill out for a year and then go get the Amex and Citi cards you want. Double-check your FICO beforehand but it's not likely to be an issue at that point.

Jsu I have student loans and a car loan that I paid off in march.
