Re: A bit of advice, please...

It´s weird. You have enough AAoA and inquiries are really good.

My best shot would be that maybe your score is too low at 657. Do you have negative info?

It could be that your 3 accounts are not reporting yet and according to your CRs, you have no history possessing a credit card.

Since you already got a foot in the door with Amex and Chase, maybe you could apply to other citi cards that are easier to get like the Forward or Dividend.

Tough, I´m not sure they will approve you. I got denied when I had no history. . . got approved 16 months later.

Best of luck!

Re: A bit of advice, please...

I'm on the same track you're on (minus the Simplicity MC).

I have three cards, Cap1 rewards, Freedom and plain Blue card from Amex (which will be PC to Blue Sky later). I'm looking to drop a Cap1 card and find a new third card (not Simplicity). My advice would be to garden at least a year. You have a lot of inquiries in such a short time frame. When I got the BC I had only two inquiries (one of them a year old) and I was approved instantly. And even then when I finish applying for the BC I got a RSVP offer in the mail for a Gold Card a week later. I think low inquiries will help you greatly. In my opinion Amex likes to see that you're not shopping around too much for credit.

Re: A bit of advice, please...

Just garden for a year at this point. Three lines of credit are all you really need right now to get you started. Definitely stop applying for more accounts. The inquiries will only ding your credit scores at this point and result in denials. Pay in full and bide your time. Eventually you could apply for a green/gold/pr gold/plat card from amex and convert all your mre points to MR points.

Re: A bit of advice, please...

thanks for all the advice guys! I think I'll just garden for a year and then apply for the 2 cards that i want. thatll probably be best. its gets a little addicting trying to secure the card you want. nobody wants to wait a year, we all want it now. just gotta be patient it'll be worth it. Work on getting those negatives GONE off your reports while you are gardening for this next year, then you will be able to get CLIs on the cards you have now as well as being able to apply for other prime cards.

I wish you the best!
