A bunch of new accounts before they report

I tried to find some good data on this question, but appeal to the community for wisdom: Since I was approved for Amex ED, then Blue, then Discover, then PenFed, then possibly US Bank hopefully Visa plus, it's all happened very quickly. I'm offically in the garden, but my question is once all these begin to report, will they see each other via Soft pull and lower my limits? Planning to keep utilization low but am hoping for no AA.

Re: A bunch of new accounts before they report

No idea.  It's never just a matter of the change itself but the individual's credit profile.  A person with a strong enough credit profile could do what you've done and see no negative impact.  One with a weaker credit profile could see AA.  That is a fair number of new accounts.  All you can do is wait and see and address it if it is in issue.  Don't just garden and spree.

Re: A bunch of new accounts before they report

The damage is already done so all you can really do is wait and see. Creditors typically only SP during account reviews, which occur at likely scheduled intervals. They don't just randomly SP. I wouldn't worry too much because it's beyond your control. Wait and see what happens and deal with it if and when it comes.

I agree with everyone that just wait, use your cards well and don't app anymore. Now is definitely the time to garden. I apped the way you did and it was fine, but each account is different. Good luck to you.

Re: A bunch of new accounts before they report

That's why I am gardening right now for at least a year, and I hope to try to make it to two! All of my credit is fairly new......my oldest account is 2 years old, then I had a spree and those are about 14 months old, then I had another and those are about a year, well you get what I am saying.....my AAoA is only 9 months. When we start getting credit, we get so caught up in getting the credit that we kind of overlook, how too much credit can hurt also. Smiley Happy

Re: A bunch of new accounts before they report

Well creditors do randomly SP. almost all of mine do. It could lead to AA but it's doubtful and if you're that worried about it then don't spree.

Re: A bunch of new accounts before they report

Well you already knew to run and hide in the garden which was smart, now just stay there. AA is always possible with any lender but what triggers it can sometimes be a mystery. One thing that is certain to trigger it is becoming irresponsible with utilization. Just use your cards wisely, relax on the apps and enjoy the fruits of your labors and you should be fine, don't sweat what you cannot control. Congrats on your new cards.
