Has anyone recenty been approved for this card? I'm still working on my credit, I have a 643 according to FICO but recently got a couple new cards using the shopping cart trick. Now we NEED to book a flight. I'm considering applying but don't want to waste the points if its very unlikely I be approved.

Its just an Regular american Airlines Credit card. the payment plan is just part of their normal card. if you pay bill in full before 6 months. No interest. Defered in other words. if not. High interest. But there is no card called Fly now. This is just like any other store card to be honest which sucks to high heaven,Because if you don't pay it off in 6 months. You are charged interest from day one. No Thanks. Much better offers out there than this crap of a program.IMO

OP, in addition to what taxi mentioned above, this card is issued by Citi and IIRC they pull EX (others can chime in). You can search for approval stats in the creditpulls database for the American Ailines credit card to gauge some results if that helps.
It will be paid off before the because I don't want to pay the interest! Thanks for the info!

But i beleive if you got the AA card from citi anyway. There would be no interest as they are offering 12-21 months interest free apr. So this program from what i can see is obsolete.

Yes I have this card, I got approved after I couldn't get approved for any of Citis main cards because of too many inquiries, so you might be able to be approved
Was the threshold for approval easier on this than any other citi cards. i would think if you could get 1 you could get any of them. hmm not 0% offers on AA you say. let me look again.
You are right. 13.99 to 21.99. i could have sworn when i got a pre approval it offered 0% i went for the double cash anyway instead of the AA. They someone tell you you would not be approved for others because of inquiries and you went for AA instead?
I personally think it's a great card funny thing is I applied for the AAdvantage Platinum Select back in May or June and just knew I weren't going to be approved but to my surprise they approved me for the world master card and last month upgraded me to world elite and on the very same day applied for the AA payment plan and was also approved you can also withdraw cash from the payment plan card although I would advise against such a thing I used the card recently for a RT ticket from NYC to Chicago $80.20 after looking at theflightdeal.com that site is the best btw don't mean to plug other websites as it may be against the rules
