AA Mailer and Email

Hello all,

I have been getting mailers and emails with my AA number inserted into the messages to apply for the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select.  I dont know if I am getting them because I am an AA member or if they are pre screened offers.  Any ideas?

Both. I got targeted offer for 50k miles (strings attached) from Alaska airlines. Had member number, etc. Have been getting mailers from BOA, and they recently lowered the apr on mailers (along with citi), I believe the lowered apr is in conjunction with my most active CC turning 2 years old.

So definitely soft pull involvement. I have not been getting mailers for AA, even though I have account and card (Barclays, not citi).

Just marketing offers/techniques to get you to apply.  You may still get denied even after succumbing to the temptation...
