AMEX APR Reduction?

Is it possible to call CS to have my AMEX BCE APR (variable 15.25%) reduced?

Do they automatically reduce it?

Not that I need to carry a balance and have a promotional 0% APR until December 2013.

I've only had the card for 4 months, initial CL $2000 (now $6000 after 61 days).

I got my BCE reduced from 19.24% (opened 2 years ago) to 16.24% after 1 year. Called again this week got it down to 13.24%. Took about a minute on the phone.

Will they reduce it before the 0% ends?!

My guess is no. Only 4 months is to early for APR reduction I'd wait at  least 9 months if not a year

Sometimes they automatically reduce it. I have had Blue for many years, and transitioned from regular Blue to BCP. Out of the blue (no pun intended ) they decreased my APR from 14.24% to 12.99% on 2/15/2013.

I would wait. There really is no point since you have 0% anyways. Let the account build some history and call in when the promo ends. That way you have a reason to ask for a lower APR.

They lowered mine by 1% just by writing a letter. Still a tad High at 15.9% for blue but it'll go down as I pay down this balance
