Does anyone know where the master AMEX APR reduction thread is, the one that is dozens of pages long? I bookmarked it a long time ago and lost the bookmark.
In the mean time, I just got off of Amex chat and they only lowered it by 2%
what?!
What did I do wrong?
Oh and this thread I was looking for was started a long time ago with people saying they tried mulitple days in a row....anyone remember that threard?

Don't believe their is a master APR reduction thread for AMEX.. You did good as Amex is only recently been offering temporary APR reductions for x months and pulled back recently on overall permanent APR reductions for most people or at leats most people on this forum although permanent ones still can happen, but not near as much as they use to!
When can i ask for an apr reduction for the first time? dont i have to have the card for a year before i can?

I don't think so. I got my APR reduction 2 months into being an AmEx customer. I was only able to get a temporary APR reduction, 2 percent down, but it was something. Since then I've asked twice and nothing.
Seems like the temporary APR reduction is more common lately. I thought I was the only one who received that as I waas reading on here about everyone getting a permanent reduction.
Of course APR's just went up 0.25% anyway.
just tried and no luck. boy if you get in with amex with their 1,000 SL they really dont want anything on your account chaging for a while i guess!

I went from 1k to 3k at the 60 day mark, but I know many haven't been as lucky. Then I got my 2nd card with them and got a 2k limit. But just last week I was denied for a CLI.
I got 2% permant reduction. I also did 3x my CL today. So idk if that affected my APR amount, but kind of bummed that they only gave me 2%. Glass half full though, if permant reductions are getting less frequent then I'll take what I can get.
I just remember this really big thread about Amex APR reductions and how it turned out to be a competition with posters trying to out do one another and getting their APR lower and lower...I bookedmarked the thread as I was still in 0% intro. I lost the bookmark.
But many myfico posters were stating that they live chated multiple days in a row and on each day they got permant APR reductions lower and lower each day.
Should I try again tomorrow? haha ![]()
Anyone remember this thread I'm talking about?

If the card is in a 0% promo then you can't generally ask for a reduction. But if you are able to get a permanent one, I would be asking every month until they stop. They go off reports that can be up to 6 months old....
