I have both and I only got $500 CL with Amex and WF gave me $5000 and my lowest APR after the initial 0% period. FWIW
I got a "pre-approved" letter from WF as well and nothing from Amex. I was/am trying to rebuild my credit after a long history of problems so I am using it to build history rather than spend a ton on it. But the 5% on pretty much everything it seems has been nice so far. In a few months from now, I won't be using it much though.
