Re: AMEX BCP CLI

Hmmm...  I'll have to look at it again. I keep forgetting that the Forward isn't exactly a "Cash Back" card. But I do remember seeing some gift cards that looked like something we could use.

I have had my AMEX BCP since 08/11. It had a starting CL of $2000. I just asked for a CLI and got it. It is now my highest limit card (out of 2 cards). My new CL is $6000. Yay! Now I don't have to run 3 payments a month through it and it will be easier to keep util under control. Woo Hoo!!!!!!

I was just wondering, how was your spending habits with the card? If you happen to spend lets say $400 per month on a CL of $1,000 would that be sufficient to qualify for the 3X CLI after 6 months?

I use it heavily, probably around $1800-$2000 a month.

Re: AMEX BCP CLI

Hmmmm this has me re-thinking requesting a CLI at my 61 day mark.  It's coming up at the end of Feb; however I have only run about $1000 through the card to date.  My current CL is $8100.  Should I run more through the card to get approval for a CLI? I am not seeking the 3x; just the $1900 to bring me to $10000 would be ok with me.

I don't think you need to worry. Amex policy is 61days from activating the card than 6 months thereafter. You are allow a 3x CLI so if you have $8100, ask for 2x. Worst case scenario...declined or counter offer from Amex. That's the beauty of Amex, CLI are soft and you are allow to request one every 6 months after the 61days increase when you first received the card.

I think you are fine in terms of how you are using the card. GL.

Edit: Keep in mind....Amex will not declined you an increase if you ask more than what they allow with your account. They'll just counter offer you the increase.

Re: AMEX BCP CLI

Ok.  That put my mind at ease.  I will try 2x to see what happens.  Considering I am not really looking for nearly that much, if they counteroffer I would still be pleased.  I may actually come out better than I expected.  We shall see.  Thanks tntexans!!!
