AMEX CLI rules changed !?

After a CLI on two brand new cards, it raised some questions here -- I called Amex to inquire about time between CLI and was told that this rule has recently been retracted, it is solely based on your maximum exposure with Amex and credit soft pull.  I then played dumb on chat, asked the same question and got the same answer.

Not sure of accuracy but it would explain my approval on 2 brand new cards within 4 days of each other.  A lot of people were saying you are allowed one CLI across all accounts period.  I also was told in the first 61 days you can't get a CLI.  Again not true.  Amex has definitely loosened their criteria -- may be worth digging into further.  I got $5000+ in CLI in just a few days on two cards.  If anyone else has tried or wants to to confirm, post back !!

Was one of our CLIs an auto CLI.  You didn't ask for both did you?  Also, not sure who told you that yo couldn't get a CLI in th first 61 days.  That gas to been the case for almost a year

Hmm, well thats the first I've heard of more than one requested CLI being approved within 180 days.  Not sure if it was a glitch and you snuck thru the cracks or what because that has always been the rule afaik

This is good to know.  It makes sense that each account would 'stand on its own' when it comes to CLI requests, assuming the total exposure limit isn't exceeded, of course.

Re: AMEX CLI rules changed !?

Like I stated, 2 Amex reps say that rule has changed and as evidenced by my approvals I think they're right.  Maybe we need other testers to weigh in

As CapTool said in your approval thread, let's not rely too heavily on what Amex reps told you.  They are wrong quite often and give out wrong info about their 'rules'.  Only time and more people trying will tell for sure.
